Who we are
SEOpologist is an SEO and website agency operated by FizzPop Media LLC, a Michigan limited liability company. Our office address is 860 Hampshire Rd, Suite C, Westlake Village, CA 91361, United States. For anything related to this policy, you can reach us through our contact form or by phone at (805) 586-2812.
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit seopologist.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. It applies to visitors of this website. If you become a client, the services we provide to you are also covered by our Terms of Service.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you fill out our Get Started or contact form, we may ask for your name, business name, email address, phone number, website URL, the services and areas you want to be found for, competitors, and other details about your goals. You choose what to share. Anything you type into free-text fields is up to you, so please don't include sensitive information there.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical details about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. Our analytics tool records anonymized usage data, such as which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from.
We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16. This site is intended for businesses and the adults who run them.
How we use it
- To reply to your message, research your website and market, and talk with you about working together.
- To keep the website secure, fast, and available.
- To understand how people use the site so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations, if any apply.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Our legal bases (GDPR)
If you're in the EU, UK, or EEA, the law asks us to say why we're allowed to process your data. Here's the plain version:
- Consent for analytics cookies. We only set them after you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Legitimate interest for security, caching, and protecting the site from abuse. This is the technical data our hosting provider handles.
- Contract for replying to your inquiry and, if you become a client, delivering the services you've asked for.
Cookies
We use two kinds of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and secure. For example, Cloudflare may set a security
cookie (such as __cf_bm) to tell real visitors apart from bots. These don't need your consent.
Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics 4. They help us see which pages people visit and how they got here. Where the law requires it, these stay off until you consent, using Google Consent Mode. Google shortens your IP address before storing it.
That's it. No advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, no social media trackers. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Who we share data with
We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf. They only get what they need to do their job, and they aren't allowed to use it for anything else.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and serves it through its edge network. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata for security, caching, and DDoS protection.
- Formspark processes our forms. Formspark stores your submission and emails it to us.
- Google provides Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console, which we use to understand site traffic and search performance.
SEOpologist is part of the FizzPop Media family, and the two companies share a team and systems. Information you send us may be handled by that shared team for the purposes described in this policy, and is never used for unrelated marketing. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We never sell personal data.
International transfers
We're based in the United States, and our providers process data here. If you're visiting from the EU, UK, or EEA, that means your data leaves your region. Our providers rely on recognized safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision where one applies.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions: up to 24 months from the date you contact us, unless you become a client. In that case we keep your details for as long as we work together, and afterward only as required for accounting and legal purposes.
- Analytics data: 14 months, which is the retention setting we use in Google Analytics.
- Server and security logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period according to their own retention practices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, contact us through our contact form or by phone at (805) 586-2812. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK, or EEA and you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
California and other US state privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to it, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to not be treated differently for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use sensitive personal information for anything beyond responding to you. You can make a request using the contact details below, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS and protected by Cloudflare's security layer. Form submissions are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be called out clearly. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
